My tan is raging after a week on a Lake Michigan beach. This no doubt calls for another top ten list. Let me first say that this trip was made possible by a generous uncle who rented two lavish cabins for all of my aunts, uncles, their children, my ma, grandma, my sibs, Katie, and me. The second cabin was so Jen and the babe could be separate from everyone when necessary. Dave, April, and I stayed there as well. Here goes:
10.Improving my raging tan
9. Lazy mornings in my own cabin before joining the rest of the family.
8. Accepting my uncle's offer to take all his climbing gear next time I'm in New Hampshire
7. Digital cameras all around making this the best documented vacay I've ever been on
6. Free medical diagnosis from my uncle's doctor friend confirming that I didn't fracture my leg in the snowboarding rail accident in Tahoe. Hematosis is the reason it still hurts and a trip to the doctor would have been useless
5. Studying botany with two of my younger cousins (this was not their first time so I was not corrupting!)
4. Finding out that my transient lifestyle is actually interesting to my aunts and uncles and not disappointing
3. Making the only dish I know how to make (recently dubbed Pasta a la Doro) and finding that not only did everyone love the hell out of it, they asked me for the recipe! I'm so domestic!
2. A week of sunsets over the lake
1. Finding inspiration to keep on writing like hell
The only downside? Missing the badass show I'm listening to right now.
